4 Westland, MI Westland, MI Full-time Full-time $25 - $30 an hour $25 - $30 an hour The CNC Mill Programmer is responsible for programming and running the CNC Mill to process raw materials into quality parts and components in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9100/14001 standards.
This is a 2nd shift position.
There is a $1.
50 shift premium.
Primary Responsibilities Produce aerospace gears and program on the OKUMA 560 or Milltronic CNC mill in a timely manner in accordance with blueprints and work orders with minimal supervision.
Inspect and measure parts with general measuring devices (micrometers & calipers) and make machine offset adjustments as needed.
Planning and performing difficult mill operations which require complicated set-ups or a high degree of accuracy.
Determine proper feeds, speeds, tooling and operation sequence, using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Maintains a workable supply of perishable tools required in the operation of machinery, as well as supply charts of Q1 functions.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
Perform basic machine maintenance.
Perform Quality Assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications and customer requirements.
Provide additional operational support to the Production team.
Secondary Responsibilities as Required Assist other departments as requested/required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in aerospace industry preferred.
5
years of experience operating and programming CNC mills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) in ASME Y14.
5- 2009 standard.
Must have programming experience (Required).
Knowledge of general machining practices encompassing cutting tool nomenclature and uses, calculations of speeds, material composition understanding, comprehension of the basic function of fixtures and familiarity with inspecting and checking methods.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tool designs.
Interpersonal skills required to interact with internal personnel in Sales, Estimating, Shipping and Administration Strong ability to read, sort, check, count and verify numbers.
Great attention to detail Willing to work as a team.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong multitasking ability Extremely detail oriented.
Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Understanding of individual contribution to the product conformity and product safety.
